William E. Crawford Conservation Area

If you're looking for a nice, quiet place to visit and go for an off-trail hike, this is a great place to visit! This 88-acre area has 70 acres of oak-hickory woods with some hard maple mixed in along the Des Moines River. It has beautiful overlook locations that allow you to see across the river into Iowa. The area has interesting geological formations exposed near where one of the tributaries quickly decends into the river.
