Location: August A Busch Shooting Range

What do I need to do if I want to hunt deer in Missouri? If I harvest a deer what do I do next? These questions and more will be answered in this informative program on deer hunting. During this clinic we will cover the following topics: Biology of white-tail deer, what to do before the hunt, what to do during the hunt, and what to do after the hunt. Ages 6 and up, participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Location: Burr Oak Woods Conservation Nature Center

Registration required (ages 11+; ages11–15 must be accompanied by a participating adult)
Have you thought about hunting, but just don’t know where to start? Deer hunting is a challenging, yet exciting tradition here in Missouri. Come out to Burr Oak Woods and learn the basics of pursuing white-tailed deer. We will cover everything from scouting locations to hunting methods, tracking your deer and more. Dress to be outside. There will be a break for lunch.

Location: Parma Woods Shooting Range

Hunting squirrels is a time-honored tradition and rite of passage for many youth. It is also a great way to spend time as a family and provide meat for the table. Join our team of experienced hunters as we teach you everything you need to know to find success hunting squirrels. We’ll talk about regulations, equipment, how to find squirrels and what to do if you take a few. This class does involve an actual hunting experience, so all participants must meet any legal requirements for hunting including licensing and Hunter Education, if required.

Date: Monday, October 7, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:30pm

Location: August A Busch Shooting Range

Learn the steps necessary to process deer meat yourself. We will discuss the field dressing process and demonstrate how to skin and butcher a deer in simple easy steps with minimum equipment. You'll learn tips on how to make sure your venison is the best quality possible.

Date: Sunday, October 13, 2019 - 8:00am to 2:00pm

Location: Duck Horn Lodge

Participants activities will include instruction in Wing shooting , Duck Calling, and Hunting strategies. Clinic participants will be invited to waterfowl hunt sometime during the youth or regular Duck Season. For More information call 660-885 6981

Date: Tuesday, October 15, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Location: August A Busch Shooting Range

This program is for youth that have not duck hunted before and want to learn how to. The clinic is mandatory and will focus on safety, duck habitat and migration, decoys, clothing, firearms etc. The hunt will be held on Sunday, October 27. Youth must be hunter education certified by the time of the hunt.

This program is for youth that have not duck hunted before and want to learn how to. The clinic is mandatory and will focus on safety, duck habitat and migration, decoys, clothing, firearms etc. The hunt will be on Saturday, October 26. Youth must be hunter education certified by the time of the hunt.

Location: Springfield Conservation Nature Center

Join Outdoor Skills Specialist Greg Collier as he shares his knowledge on whitetail deer hunting. Learn the basics of deer hunting in Missouri. Topics will include equipment, permits and regulations, hunting methods, scouting, stand placement, firearm selection, shot placement, safety, and what to do with your harvest. Ages 10-adult.

Date: Friday, November 29, 2019 - 3:30pm to Sunday, December 1, 2019 - 1:00pm

Location: Indian Creek Recreation Area (Mark Twain Lake)

Participants will go through firearms safety, deer hunting tactics, and deer biology and management.
They will also go through a deer rifle sight in at the range.
Mentors will be provided.
Lunch Provided by Whitetails Unlimited.
PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 6 - 15 YEARS OLD
AND HAVE NEVER HARVESTED A DEER.
