Hunting Events

Register by August 20

Date: Tuesday, August 21, 2018 - 6:00pm to 9:00pm

Location: August A Busch Shooting Range

This is an introduction course to duck hunting and how to have a successful hunt. Class will cover habitat, migration patterns, hunting opportunities, blinds, decoys, ammo, chokes, calls, waterfowl identification, basic calling, and more. This program will take place at the August A. Busch CA classrooms. Children ages 11-16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Location: Golden Valley Shooting Range

Participants should bring their own 20ga or 12ga Shotgun. Ammunition provided. Information about youth Dove fields and Hunt provided at Clinic. Register at 660-885-6981

Date: Tuesday, August 28, 2018 - 5:00am to 8:00am

Location: Carrollton YMCA

Come check out the FREE outdoor skills and general conservation information table at the Missouri Department of Conservation event. There will be an archery station, fishing pole casting, mammal pelts to feel, and a live snake to check out if you desire. The event is FREE to anyone that comes.

Location: Parma Woods Shooting Range

This class spans three evenings and covers dove biology, behavior and habitat. How to hunt doves as well as wing shooting practice. If you have your own shotgun bring it with you. If you do not have your own, we have shotguns available. We have ammunition for most of the popular gauges.

Date: Friday, August 31, 2018 - 6:00pm to Saturday, September 1, 2018 - 11:00am

Location: Locust Creek

This clinic is to teach youth to safely enjoy dove hunting, and to learn about migratory birds and their habitat. Participants must attend Friday evening for a short course on dove biology, followed by some wing shooting practice. Firearms are available if needed. Ammunition will be provided. The clinic and hunt will be held at the Locust Creek Shop Building.

Date: Saturday, September 22, 2018 - 9:00am to 11:00am

Location: Runge Conservation Nature Center

Registration required (ages 10+ years, children 10-15 accompanied by an adult. Accompanying adult must also register). Join us for an evening of hunting preparation and how-to’s! Runge naturalists will teach you the basics of pre-season prep, including how to scout for an optimal hunting location, what to pack, whitetail behavior, climbing stands, and tracking. Then we will test your new skill sets on an interactive hike geared towards seeking out whitetail!

Location: Andy Dalton Shooting Range

Each year on the forth Saturday in September we celebrate NHF day by providing one free hour of shooting on the rifle/pistol range, shotgun patterning range, or the archery range and for shotgun shooters we allow one free round of trap or skeet. Bring your own firearms and ammunition to participate and regular check in, hours, and fees apply for other hours/rounds needed.
