Date: Thursday, November 21, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Location: Parma Woods Shooting Range

Hunting white-tailed deer after "the rut" is challenging for many hunters. Join our team of seasoned hunters for this seminar covering some of the tactics commonly used to hunt late-season deer. Seminar topics will include deer biology, habits, and hunting strategies.

Date: Friday, November 29, 2019 - 3:30pm to Sunday, December 1, 2019 - 1:00pm

Location: Indian Creek Recreation Area (Mark Twain Lake)

Participants will go through firearms safety, deer hunting tactics, and deer biology and management.
They will also go through a deer rifle sight in at the range.
Mentors will be provided.
Lunch Provided by Whitetails Unlimited.
PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 6 - 15 YEARS OLD
AND HAVE NEVER HARVESTED A DEER.

Date: Tuesday, December 3, 2019 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Location: August A Busch Shooting Range

You harvested a deer, processed the meat and now it is time to cook. This program will show how to prepare and cook your venison for the table. There will also be a chance to learn and sample some of the recipes.

Date: Friday, December 13, 2019 - 5:30pm to Sunday, December 15, 2019 - 12:00pm

Location: Sweet Springs Community Center

The Missouri Hunting Heritage Federation and the Missouri Department of Conservation invite first-time youth hunters ages 11 to 17 to attend this waterfowl clinic in Saline County.

This event will begin with Hunter Education classroom and skills sessions on the evening of Friday, 12/13/19, and the morning of Saturday, 12/14/19. On Saturday afternoon, participants will attend structured shotgun training at a live fire session. The event will culminate with a waterfowl hunt on private property on the morning of 12/15/19. Participants must attend the entire event in order to participate in the hunt portion of the clinic.

Participants must be accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the entirety of the clinic and need to be properly licensed for a waterfowl hunt. Lunch will be provided on Sunday, 12/15/19, but all other food and lodging is the responsibility of the participants. Firearms, ammunition, and waders will be provided for participants, if needed.

The clinic is provided free of charge, but MHHF does require a $20 refundable deposit to hold the participant’s place in the clinic.

Predator hunting can be done at times of the year when other hunting seasons are closed. This introductory program will cover the basics of predator hunting and trapping. We will cover equipment needed, set-ups, and calling. Both basic as well as some advanced tactics will be covered.

Location: Andy Dalton Shooting Range

Interested in hunting but need help getting started? We will be hosting a series of programs throughout 2020 to introduce people to the heritage sport of hunting. In this program we will answer the question of what is hunting along with what kind of social, time, and financial commitment an individual has to be ready to make to begin hunting safely. Date: Monday, February 10, 2020 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Location: August A Busch Shooting Range

This clinic will teach the basics of upland hunting with emphasis on ringneck pheasants followed by a hunt on Saturday, February 15, 2020. This is for adults 18 and over who want to learn to hunt and have never purchased a small game permit. Attendees must be hunter education certified.

Date: Monday, February 10, 2020 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm

Location: August A Busch Shooting Range

This clinic is for youth age 11-15, interested in learning the skills needed for upland hunting with the emphasis on the ringneck pheasant, followed by a hunt on Saturday, February 22, 2020. The clinic is mandatory in order to attend the hunt and attendees must be hunter education certified.
