Registration required (adults) Nature Printing is the art of recreating images of found objects from nature. Little has changed from ancient times. This process has been practiced as an art, a craft and an aid to scientific study. Participants will learn about the history and techniques of nature printing while creating a wearable work of art using leaves, textile inks and recycled fabrics. We will also experiment using the etching press to create a one-of-a-kind nature art image on paper called a monoprint. If accommodations are needed, please e-mail the instructor after registering and at least one week prior to the program.

Try out your archery skills with an easy, instructor-led shooting session. Discover the therapeutic power of kayaking as you paddle around our tranquil pond. Please wear closed-toe shoes. (ages 5-7 use smaller bows and ride in kayak with an adult)

Learn about the biodiversity of plants in the bioswales and which plants can be incorporated into a home rain garden. All experience levels are welcome. If you love to have fun outdoors, and would like to learn new skills, then this program is for you! Join us for an evening of fun as we learn the basics of archery, atlatl, canoeing, and kayaking. Participants must dress to be outside, wear sturdy shoes (no flip flops or flimsy sandals) and bring a water bottle that can be refilled. Bug spray, sunscreen, and a hat are recommended.

Did you know Archery is one of the safest sports in which to participate? It is rated more accident-free than every ball sport except table tennis! This course is designed to introduce students to the basics of archery including safety rules, stance, equipment used, and, of course, how to shoot a bow and arrow. The instructors will also discuss the nomenclature of the bows and arrows. Join us for this fun and very informative class

This workshop will offer a chance to learn best practices for maintaining a healthy pond on your property. Participants will learn directly from MDC experts in fisheries management. The workshop covers a wide variety of topics, including fish stocking, creating fish habitat, and controlling aquatic vegetation. There will also be a question-and-answer opportunity after the workshop.

There will be live aquatic plant samples and we encourage you to bring in a sample of your pond plants so we can identify them for you while you are there.

Walk-in (ages 8+) Setting up a tent can be intimidating. Deciphering the pieces and parts and knowing what a complete tent looks like is half the battle. Join a naturalist for a chance to practice - the best way to learn! A variety of tents will be available to try on-site with instruction and support along the way. Have a tent of your own? Bring it in for practice, tips on setting it up and storing after use. If accommodations are needed, please e-mail the instructor at least one week prior to the program.
