Annual Prospects Report

Hickory Creek is stocked with rainbow trout to provide an urban coldwater fishery in the City of Neosho's Morse Park. The stream is stocked nine times annually and maintains a good rainbow trout fishery all year long. Rainbow trout between 12 and 15 inches were captured in the fall 2022 survey.  Rock bass (goggle-eye) numbers and sizes have been very good during recent surveys with numerous fish over the statewide minimum length of 7 inches observed. Approximately 2 miles of stream flow through the park. There are two ADA accessible fishing platforms on the stream. There is a catch-and-release season from November 1 through the last day of February. From March 1 through October 31, statewide White Ribbon stream regulations apply. Best bets would be Rainbow Trout and Rock Bass.
